A Small Field With Big Promise.

When you turn into the parking lot of 556 Airsoft Arena you could easily be forgiven for thinking that the place is just to smal for Airsoft. The thing is, you'd be wromng.

What the guys at 556 have done is taken a space and utilized every square inch into  making a great little playing area with thrill a minute action, play how you like it atmosphere and a valure for money arena that leaves you feeling like you have spent your money and time wisely.

The playing area is about 5000 square feet and they have set up a floor plan that will test the skis of the most seasoned CQB player. Long corridors, small rooms, L shaped bends and open chambers filled with obstacles ensures that you are never letting your guard down in short sharp exciting games. Yet the staff manage the force on force teams in such a way that you never feel cramped.

The place itself is maintained very well, from the bathroom, the shop and the staging area, it all is very clean and tidy. The staging area itself is small, and you do feel a litte short on space when preparing for your next round. However, that as also been addressed with the provision of shelves on which you can store your kit while in play and allow tjhat spac to other players.

When waiting to play there are a few benches to chill oput on in the corridor outside the playing and staging area, but on a busy day, those spaces are at a premium,. The funny thing is that with space outsiide of the play area being tight, it somehow works in enhancing the atmosphere of the place. One thing that everyone I spoke to said was that the place was "Friendly".

The scenarios and game play offered are varied. In such a small area of play you never feel like you are playing the same game twice.

556 also offers a rental service for those who do not have AEGs that fire beow the 300 fps limit, and offer a downgrade service for those who want to have a dedicated CQB AEG.

Which brings mre to Safety and staff awarness. One thing I liked about the field was that before every game a referee was checking that you understood the rules and the minimum engagment distance. During the game play a referee was on a platform overlooking the game and informing players that "Kills" where walking out to respawn and watching for blindfires.

Once you have finished your game, you are less than 1/2 mile from a WAWA and a Local Diner.

So do I have any critsism? Well the omnly thing I would like to see if the staging area curtained off from the play area. no one was allowed in staging without thier goggles on, and the corridor was sealed off with doors during play.

Thius is a great arena and I recommend it highly. I thank Chief and his crew for putting a lot of effort and professionalism into creating a safe, friendly and afforfable CQB facility. I for one, will definatley be back
